Kind Closet is a locally owned resale boutique in downtown Jackson, Minnesota, offering fashionable finds at a fraction of retail. We bring together affordable shopping, thoughtfully selected merchandise, and opportunities to support our community.

No! Everyone is welcome to shop and donate accepted merchandise. Membership offers additional perks and a choice of participating causes to support.

Beginning November 1, 2026, we will no longer accept new traditional consignment. We’re shifting toward curated resale and charitable merchandise donations, with updates rolling out gradually.

We welcome clean, gently loved clothing, shoes, and accessories in excellent condition. Items should be free of stains, holes, strong odors, and excessive wear. Please contact us before dropping off donations to check what we’re currently accepting.

Highest demand brands over the past year have been Lug, Maurices, Under Armour, American Leather Co, American Eagle Outfitters, Nike, Kate Spade, Lodis, Aimee Kestenberg and Old Navy.

Donated items do not earn a cash payout or consignment credit. As a thank-you, you’ll receive a one-time shopping coupon when you donate accepted items.

Accepted donations support Jackson County Animal Protection Society (JCAPS) by default. Active Kindness Club members can designate a participating cause for their accepted merchandise donations.

Sales help support both the designated cause and the costs of operating Kind Closet. Keeping the shop running allows us to continue turning donated merchandise into community support.

Existing merchandise and account balances will continue to be handled according to your consignment agreement. Please contact us directly with questions about your account.

Pets visiting with their people are welcome! However, Kind Closet is a retail shop, not an animal shelter or surrender location. Please don’t bring animals here to leave in our care. If you need help rehoming an animal, contact a rescue or shelter directly to discuss their intake process.
